Cornelia Breuß became Head of the Mobility Section at the BMK on 19 August 2024. She has many years of expertise in the areas of transport policy, infrastructure financing and stakeholder management.

The Mobility Section is responsible for the cross-modal strategy, planning and financing of transport infrastructure. 

Cornelia Breuß succeeded Herbert Kasser, who moved to ASFINAG as Chief Financial Officer.

Breuß studied international business administration and journalism and was most recently head of staff and authorized signatory at ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG. Previously, the great-granddaughter of a barrier keeper was a negotiator in the cabinet of Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler for the railway expansion and the introduction of the KlimaTicket. In addition, Breuß worked as a consultant and press spokesperson in Berlin, the Vienna Chamber of Labour and the Concordia Press Club, among others.

The mobility turnaround can only be achieved if all modes of transport are used according to their strengths. The coordinated planning and financing of these infrastructures is of enormous importance. Together with the experts in Section II, we are shaping the mobility of tomorrow today on rail, road and in the field of active mobility.
