Technical assessment: expansion joint products
Note 1
With the entry into force of the national guideline “RVS 15.04.51” about expansion joints at 1 December 2010 and the End of the coexistence period at 22 March 2013 the validity of national approvals for expansion joints based on the previous RVS version is expired.
Those Manufacturers, who applied for a subsequent national approval of the so far approved expansion joints, are going to be listed on the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology - Homepage as “in Bearbeitung” and are currently in process.
The so far approved expansion joints that are expired and further applied for a subsequent national approval fulfil the technical requirements of the national guideline “RVS 15.04.51:2010”. These expansion joints are technical nearly unchanged compared to the previous version of the national guideline for expansion joints. Therefore the possibility for a temporary use for the scope of federal roads is until an issue of a subsequent national approval by the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology given.
